How old are you? Many gyms have Silver Sneakers programs for people over 65.

Some health insurance plans offer discounts. My BCBS allows anyone over 18 to join many local gyms for $25 per month without any other fees or contracts.

A NY family member said they had a no commitment "contract" that so long as you informed them in writing they were out easy as that. Now they both cautioned to be sure to READ your contract.
