I switched from oil to gas heat and put in a gas line for a clothes dryer ( I currently have an electric dryer). My Oyster Bay county inspector said I need to have an appliance hooked up to pass final inspection OR cut the gas line for the dryer all the way to the source. Is that true? Must I have an appliance installed to pass final inspection? Why can’t I have a capped line?
Im dealing w/ similar situation. Its either electric or gas. Electric, you need an electrical certificate only. Gas, they have you completely cut it so you can have any future modificiations to easily add an appliance. Its so stupid
Inspector's word is LAW. I dealt with TOB inspectors for a plumbing permit and CO for 3 months. A horrible nightmare. I would just buy a gas dryer and call it a day. You will save on your utility bill with a gas dryer also. TBH your plumber should have known that also. Make sure to have a smoke and CO detector in your utility room too.
