This is an exciting event for Long Island and very personal to me because this will be my brothers 4th Iron man. He did 2 full Iron Man competitions in lake Placid NY, a full Iron Man in Hawaii last year. This was one is a half Iron Man. 1.2 mile swim in Zachs Bay, 13.5 mile run and 56 mile biking. He also ran the NY Marathon in 2021. I am very proud of my brother and give him a lot of credit. He's 48 and married with 3 kids. He's in better shape than any one else I know his age. I would have attended and sat in VIP seating but I think the seats were 300.00 each. My mom and I can track him using an app that they have for that day.
I wanted to post this because lately this forum has been nothing but negative. I figured posting something positive would be nice for a change. All you hear are complaints these days.
Congrats to him. It's cool how you can track runners these days.
My son did the Krispy Kreme Challenge in Raleigh last year (google it...and be prepared to get queasy) and we were able to get pictures of him crossing the finish line.
