All you need is internet service.
Lose the box & the landline.
You’ll be fine. Everything will be ok I promise.
If you need someone to talk to, I’m here for you.
I too was afraid to make the cut, but I did, and life actually got better.
some of us still need landlines like me. We have elderly parents that need to reach us. My husbands mom does not use a cell phone but my mom does.

Meh rubbish. Role reversal.
We finally had an intervention and forced my folks to get with technology.
Settled on basic flip phones though lol, the smart phones were a little too much to handle.
Took a while to adjust. Then at some point, maybe a year later? my old man realized that the only time he answered or used the “house phone” anymore was when the extended car warranty people called. It was then, he realized he could cancel the land line and everything would be fine. Haha

well my MIL has dementia. It started 4 years ago. Prior to that she did use a cell phone. My mom had had a cell phone for about 15 years. She says it's her life line.

Hope this helps! Would have been nice if we were told changes would be made.

YES!!! I AM VERY UPSET BY THIS!! Optimum has removed the SEARCH feature! I have called to complain and I hope more people will do the same! Demand that they restore the search feature!

A few weeks ago, I noticed that now there are only two options [Channel Guide/On Demand] and the other two are gone.

I have no way to Search the guide now and my past saved searches are gone.

I have tried power cycling the box multiple times but no such luck.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Yeah, this is at my Mother's condominium. They have "free" basic cable as part of their HOA fees. She does have to pay the DVR fee, but she's paying for cable through her HOA dues whether she watches cable TV or not.

I have heard that the newer Altice One box is garbage, and who knows what will happen after this place gets lit up with fiber.

They laid the main fiber lines here last year, and the past couple of work days fiber techs have been out connecting up the individual units. One of the techs today told me it should be active in "less than a few months".
