Friend is looking for his uncle to go to after knee replacement. Reviews for these places are dismally across the board.

Most knee rehabs are handled as home based therapy now. My BIL had knee surgery recently on LI and he was sent home 2 days later. He was suppose to go home the day after, but a low grade fever kept him one additional day. He also is a nurse and he said years ago it was an automatic rehab placement but since the methods have improved it is now on a case by case basis. I would suggest he speak to his Dr.

FWIW, it might be helpful to know where he lives or where in terms of Nassau OR Suffolk he wants to rehab.

Also it depends on what insurance you have. My mom's insurance which is excellent gave her a list of rehabs they would cover and the one is Bellmore was closest. I don't think you can pick just any rehab facility. You would have to check if your insurance covers that place.

Nassau University Medical Center doesn’t seem to have a great reputation but my experience with the physical rehab unit was very good.

When I fell and tore my ACL in 2018 ( No surgery thankfully) I went to out patient physical therapy. It was affiliated with South Shore University hospital in Bay Shore right across the street from the KFC on Montauk highway. 4 months 3 X a week. They were fabulous, plus exercises I was given to do at home.
