If it's in the village then you're fine. Great area. South of Merrick though watch out bc it has and WILL flood in the event of another hurricane. Just look at post Sandy Lindenhurst photos.

thanks. I think it's nice in lindy. Not sure what 'village' means on the map, but thanks again. Lots of places are going to flood, we can't seem to worry about ALL of it for now.

Minor correction, in Lindenhurst it is called Montauk Highway.

I think the only place in Suffolk County where it is called Merrick Road is Amityville. After it crosses into Copiague it is called Montauk Highway all the way to Babylon Village where it is called Main Street. It is kind of interesting, same road but different names.

I think most of Lindenhurst south of Montauk got flooded (as did other South Shore communities) but not all of it. I have a friend that lives a block south of Montauk who says he did not get flooded, although the water did come up his driveway and almost touched the house.

\.

New York State Route 27A (NY 27A) is a state highway extending from Massapequa in Nassau County to Oakdale in Suffolk County on Long Island. Its two most prominent components are Merrick Road and Montauk Highway
