I am shocked too. I always thought it was 2 acre minimum zoning there. Friends of ours bought land there in the 1980s and they told us it was 2 acre minimum then.

Just went to the village web site to look it up. CUrrently it is:

Schedule of building requirements.
The minimum lot area per dwelling shall be:
In an R-2 District: two acres.
In an R-1 District: one acre.

https://ecode360.com/13901172

They still have some of the old restrictions in there, which made me LOL. For example: chain link, stockade, vinyl, or plastic fencing is not allowed.

Just looked at the actual listing for that 1/2 acre lot, no wonder it has been on the market for 200+ days. It is one of two 1/2 acre lots that are right next to each other, so I'm assuming that the other one ("lot #2") was sold and now the remaining one is an orphan that isn't usable for building.

I can't imagine why anyone would subdivide (if that's what they originally did) an existing 1-acre lot into two unbuildable halves. The only likely buyer for that remaining lot would be the owner of the adjacent house/property. Good luck selling that white elephant!

Such ass rapery.
300k for a postal stamp lot.
Then it's 18k a year in taxes once you build.
OMG LI is such a ripoff. Schlep into the city like a damn zombie for life so you can eat bagels and go to the beach. Yeah really great QOL.
Paying through the ass for what? Shopping and "culture"? Stupid stupid stupid. LI sucks.

What's even better than eating bagels and the beach, is eating bagels ON the beach!

Pass. Don’t need sand on my everything bagel or a schmear by the sea.
