hi,
looking to invest $150K in a place close to the ocean where we can go during summertime and then my brother can move in when he retires. we just need a small nice place. is that impossible?any tip?

$150,000 would be a great down payment on an oceanfront condo in Long Beach or the Hamptons!

I would look in Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach or another SC beach. 150,000 won't get you much on LI without having a HUGE mortgage. Just my opinion

Try upstate by the erie canal west of rochester. Very nice especially in the summer. In long island forget it!!!

I grew up along the canal... you do not want to vacation in the Rochester area along the CANAL... it is gross water, nobody wants to swim in it... if you are thinking of a Lake... try one of the Finger Lakes- I like Canandaigua.
