SHORT TRAIN always makes me laugh because nothing ever got my father as incensed as that. Of course the epic fail of the LIRR lately is nothing compared to his commuting days in the 1970s and '80s.

I was there for the 80's folly and I agree. There was no such thing as on time performance on the Oyster Bay line because often times they were so late they cancelled the train you were waiting for and combined it with the next one. One not showing up at all!!!
