My son is ecstatic for snow. He saw a "little" snow the day before we left for vacation, but he hasn't actually played in it yet. We got back this past week from vacation, and I ordered him a pair of boots. A couple of people said not to buy snow "stuff" because you never know if we will even get any. The boots are supposed to be here tomorrow with prime shipping. Actually, they were suppose to be here yesterday. I hope they get here ..and they fit.
I am wondering how accurate they are on predicting snow. Well, I guess I will know tomorrow night.
About how old is he? We got snow boots for our 3 year olds and they still fit 2.5 years later. Hell most of their old socks still fit too. Feet apparently don't grow that fast.
He just turned four, but he was 54 lbs (large for his age) last checkup and needs double extra wide shoes. I used a mom and pop shoe store in Charleston for his shoes and still usually had no choice. A lot of 2x i guess are just not wide. I need to find a mom and pop store here if these don't work.
They're talking MAYBE 10" of snow, not the 30 we got walloped with last year. You're comparing apples and bowling balls.
good point. This storm might involve blizzard/whiteout conditions which would make traveling via car even MORE dangerous than last year's storm!
Seriously, for most reasonable people these early closures and warnings are all pretty unnecessary and annoying. Unfortunately, our society is full of people who are anything but reasonable so I'm generally in favor of government overreactions to keep these idiots from killing themselves and others.
The snow - meh... fun for the kids, yet glad to not shovel or blow... but the -10 wind chill - that's a whole other story! yikes
I'm hearing complaints about the preemptive closures - it just exacerbates an already ridiculous situation in the stores when they can't even stock them - so people will panic buy even more. They just don't have the resources I guess to clear like they used to or people are getting soft. It was about some random off side streets not getting sanded or plowed in the past... now it's fairly main roads that aren't being proactively sanded or cleared - I can't blame people for getting pissed.
I seriously laugh when LIer with their giant SUV get stuck because many people don't know how to drive 4WD vehicles. Should be a hoot when I watch the entertainment.
my favs are when a car is fully loaded of people & no one gets out if the car after 20 min of spinning the wheels until its smoking
