Well, there's no 4k content. By the time the industry can make the switch to 4k, 8k will be the standard. The progressions are not timed in sync with each other.

Really, there's not a whole lot of improvement we meager humans will be able to detect with our pitiful eyes. The current higher end tvs are already capable of displaying hyper-real images.

I just filled out the form and received a confirmation email that claimed I will either be cleared (and emailed) or contacted for more information to confirm I am in a trade. I'm guessing if you get past the confirmation stage then you will be okay to pick up your ID card at the show.

I guess it's the chicken or the egg theory. What will the consumers want to see first? Reasonable priced 4K TVs or 4K content?

I think there are about a dozen movies that support 4K right now(last time I checked). The Amazing Spider Man, Total Recall, After Earth and Taxi Driver to name a few. Sony also has a 4K digital movie streaming service available. And then there are some UltraHD video cameras that are out there also.

But besides all of this, you are right, not much content.

Yeah, there is some content, but not enough for a healthy 4k tv market.
