I went to NMSU from 1991-1996, and most recently was back there last year
man it has changed!!!! SOme things really have changed:
no more Henry J's (I LOVED THE BURGERS THERE)
Golden Bull is gone too
North Telshor has grown IMMENSELY
El Paseo was the spot especially for the high school cruisers, now it all looks run down and worn out, kinda trashy....
There was a chinese buffet place on boutz and El Paseo that we used to go to, gone too
Old Navy, Best Buy, my how my college town has grown.
Things that stayed.... Dicks (THANK GOD)! Chopes in La Mesa.
Start with HWY 70 from I-25 to Organ on the East Mesa as that used to be a 2 lane or 4 lane road with red lights and now is a Freeway with overpasses and very sleek looking. Add the new growth over there with a new hospital, Dona Ana community college, schools, shopping and houses galore.
Now the West Mesa is starting to take off along with Downtown changing and NMSU is growing Las Cruces has changed since the 90's.
There were the Hurricane Alley, Brew-ha-ha, Farley's, and a great burger joint near Picacho Hills that only opened in the spring/summer. Any of those still there?
I remember fun times at O'Ryans but I guess that one is definitely gone.
