Just wanted to get some information as it relates to crime in the city of Frankfort, KY. My daughters are going to Kentucky State University and when we visited the campus last year I forgot to ask as crime on campus and off.

I appreciate any information you can give me.

Frankfort is a community of many faces. The KSU area of Frankfort is solid simply if for no other reason the number of state offices in the area. Frankfort as the state capital of Kentucky is a pretty quiet community as all the noise from there is more political than social.

As a long-time (now former) resident of the Frankfort area, I echo tomocox's sentiments.

You have higher-income/higher-pension folks, normally aged mid-40s and later, off Georgetown Road on the east side and Cardwell Lane on the west side. You have a sizable African-American community in east-central Frankfort, near KSU. You have the working-class/working poor/blue-collar contingent that lives primarily near Holmes St. on the city's north side. You have everyday middle-class folks, most of whom don't give a d**n about the politics taking place at the capitol building, going out toward I-64, as well as Georgetown Road.
