I would really love to relocate to Whitley/Laurel County. Was just wondering what the chances of landing a decent welding job would be in the area.
I am a Journeyman welder, with over 35 years experience. I know the wages there would not be what they are in the north.
My wife and I have been to Corbin/Williamsburg to visit relatives many times and we just love it there.
Some of the friendliest people in the world, and the sights are just breathtaking!
We are both in our late fifty's and still have a bit of time before we can retire.
Like many in Michigan I lost me job due to plant closing.
We always wanted to live in Ky. so now seems like the perfect time to relocate.
If I could find work I have a place to live until I get established and bring the wife down.
Would love to hear comments from any and all of our (hopefully) new neighbors.
Thank you Ahead of Time.
George and Darlene.

Ok how about this, would there be any buildings in Corbin that may be for rent that have living quarters? As stated in my first post. I am a welder. Maybe I could open a small shop. Any thoughts?
Thanks a Million, for any and all input.
George.

George and Darlene,

WOW! I was reading "old" Corbin stuff and came across this one. How nice that your dreams have come true. Hopefully, if things go right, we'll be right behind ya. Since this old thread is dated June, 2009, I guess I'll keep prayin and not give up. :-)

It shows you CAN control your destiny, if you keep at it. Talk to ya soon,
Cat
