Would anyone on here happen to know what the next design of KY's license plate will look like?

Out of curiosity.

Hopefully not as 1980s as the Churchill Downs plate. Okay plate, just a bygone area.

Hopefully not as "poor statish" as the cloud plate. Also, so 1990s.

Hope to God not the ugly sunshine plate. I put an angry face over the smiling sun. Never got pulled over because of it.

Hopefully not as boring as the current Unbridled Spirit plate, although I would argue that it is the best plate Kentucky's ever had. It was better with the thick numerals than the uber-thin numerals used now.

I think Kentucky ought to model their plate after Ohio's or Alabama's new plate, although without Ohio's cartoonish-ness: Have a transition from banjos and caves in the west, to urban Louisville, to the hills of the east. Leave out the horse theme, everybody knows Kentucky for that already.

Of course, if you see Kentucky's specialty issue plates, they're almost all cheeeeeeee-e-e-e-ap and/or ugly. The Keeneland plate and a few university plates are the exceptions. So, I'm sure the Transportation Cabinet will find a way to make Kentucky yet again look like a poor state that can't even design a decent-looking license plate.

I picture my Jesus wearing a tuxedo, but with a mullet, cuz it says, "I'm formal, but I like to party."

Western Kentucky is the birthplace of bluegrass music. You are aware, aren't you?

Ears, I stand corrected. They call around the Daviess/Ohio County area as Bluegrass music area. I still think of western Kentucky as further west than that. Still can't see putting a banjo on the plates

Something humorous about Kentucky license plates was that once a long time ago, the top of the plates said "tour Kentucky" then the county name at the bottom like now. The plates from Mayfield looked funny if you read top to bottom. "Tour Kentucky Graves".
