Keep in mind that the builder/general contractor must be approved by the Western Shores manager and there are several restrictions on the type of home that is to be built. The fact that there are numerous restrictions was a selling point for us.

Dave

We agree with you whole heartedly. That was a big selling point to us. What the developer has done is fantastic. We are trying to decide does it make since to build now when we can only use it a couple times a year or what until we retire and us it 6-8 months a year. The manager there is actually very good to work with and we have enjoyed our conversations with him. We believe that several folks may have bought to flip and we hope that does not hurt the concept or value of this beautiful piece of property

We purchased property in Western Shores several years back and are looking for a builder as we would like to begin construction. Would you mind sharing the name of who you found?

Forgot to look when this post was made. Is this still a somewhat valid price for building a modest home there in Western Shores? What about the cost of putting together one of those log home kits they're promoting? Also wonder about the cost to build an extra detached garage. Thanks.

We have a lot in Western Shores as well. We have not started to build, but I have talked to people there that have built or are currently building. Their costs were about $135 a sf, but they are building some extravagant homes. We are looking to downsize, and have got some good quotes. Talk to the salesgirl over at Western Shores, she may be able to point you in the right direction. She has been very helpful from before we purchased and continues to follow up with us to see how we are doing.

My husband and I also purchased land at Western Shores and are interested in learning more about builders. Can you give me your website as a builder? I too believe 100 per square foot is way too high for us.

Does anyone have the names of builders for Western Shores? We are getting very nervous about the potential cost of building.

Just curious to hear if you have built yet? We have a lot at Western sure also for retirement… Smaller home… But thinking we should wait 2 to 5 years for prices to recover after pandemic?

Don't think you'll get much response on this thread, none of the posters have been on City-Data since 2015. Most are one question wonders.
