I'd been coming to Bowling Green, for many years, and it always struck me as such a pristine, hospitable, lovely little town, but of late, it's become a garbage dump and I'm really annoyed about it...I do not understand why people think it's ok to allow their dogs to poop all over the place, without cleaning it up and toss their garbage out along the street....people are lazy....have no concept of other people's space/propery, taking pride in where they live and work.

A while back I lived in a beautiful apartment complex, it was gorgeous, and the grounds were kept nice and neat, but a corporation bought it out, and I'm telling you, the people who moved in, were allowing their dogs to poop all over the place, even in the streets and refused to clean it up....I called several young people out on it, and they just ignored you, or said, Oh, I'll be back to clean it up, and my neighbors called a young girl out on it and she said, "oh, it's up to the grounds crew to pick it up?" Grrrrr, can you believe it?

I moved, but in the past oh, say 1.5 years, I've noted how trashy people are....I was talking to one guy who works along Scottsville Rd, and every day he says he's got to go out and pick up trash, people are complaining all over town, stating how they have to pick up soda cans, fast food bads, and beer bottles all over town....it just seems like a lot of people in the now Bowling Green area, are inconsiderate and extremely lazy....

and it's a shame because it impacts the reputation & beauty of the town...

My guess is they are newcomers to town, only there or living there because it's a doable driving distance or commute to Nashville.

I agree, but also have to say, it's also a lot of young people who do not seem to have respect for themselves, let alone others....I've seen it with my own eyes, not that old people don't do it as well, but the ones I've seen are 17 to 40's. These are the people I've encountered doing these things and when I can, I've confronted them as well, and my first thought is, "didn't your parents teach you better than that, do you not possess respect for yourself, let alone others who live here?"

My one neighbors husband, saw the kids doing it, so he followed them, and when they stopped he went over and talked to them and asked them to go back and pick up their trash, stating, "we don't do that around here", and oddly they did, he didn't yell at them, simply discussed it with them...in a very stern voice...and surprisingly they went back and picked it up.

I remember once, as a child, getting a piece of gum from my sister, and throwing the wrapper out of the car window, my dad, instantly pulled the car over, made me go back and find that paper, pick it up, all the while yelling at me, and then driving me back home and letting me sit in my room for the rest of the day to think about never doing that again. So, when I see someone throwing stuff out of their car, it infuriates me, that parents lack that part of parenting. And I've seen so many grown men, spit on the ground where people walk, I don't care if it's a parking lot, or where, that is disgusting, and piggish the same as not picking up your trash, or dog's poo and a huge insult to your community.
