Louisville's pro situation may change. We finally got a tier one pro sport (women's soccer), and the men's soccer club is the highest level Tier 1B. I fully expect MLS or NBA here in the next 5 years. However, we are an overgrown college city in Louisville, and locals love that.
Nashville is overrated. It's one of the only large cities in TN I wouldn't move to, and I live in Memphis (the only one that's worse )

After recently exploring both Kentucky and Tennessee, I must admit that Kentucky is — or at least appears to be — the superior option of the two states. Based on my travels, Kentucky is much cleaner than Tennessee and has noticeably better infrastructure. Roads and trails are in much better condition in Kentucky and have much better signage. Tennessee feels like the Deep South or Wild West by comparison: dirty, lawless and noticeably more rundown. Tennessee also appears to lack forest management, as there are downed trees all over the highways (FTR, I’ve never seen this before in any heavily forested state). There are more “angry types” in Tennessee and less orderly Midwestern influence. Honestly, the two states are night-and-day.

Isn't Louisville trending more liberal than the rest of the state ? Lexington with the UofK would probably be liberal as well? Just asking .......

Louisville does trend a lot more liberal than the rest of the state, with the Lexington and Frankfort areas sometimes swinging that way, depending on the topic.
