My wife and I just bought a house in Augusta, KY! We have been visiting regularly for several years and love the vibe of the place. It's a very scenic river town, but a little rough around the edges (which is just fine).

We have been serious looking for a little get-away house for a few years and watching the prices only go up as it was voted one of the best at this and that... With the distillery going in and getting great reviews we thought we had lost out. Places at our price point for a second home were usually selling within hours of listing or sold word of mouth between locals.

We were able to land a nice little cottage style house for a decent price within an hour of it be listed. It takes a lot to get me excited but I'm excited. Some folks have a lake house... we now have a river town house!

Anyone else live in Augusta on the forum?

Congratulations!! I love Augusta. It has a lot going for it and is so quaint yet close enough to Cincinnati without it being too much of a hassle to enjoy things there like the zoo and museums.
I live up a little ways up the river from you in Maysville.

Augusta looks like a beautiful town. I hope you have a view of the river. If either you or your spouse, or both have WFH jobs or you're retired then it looks like a wonderful community to be a part of.
