I am sorry this is happening, OP. I can understand how annoying this must be, but I fear that if you start calling the authorities on these people, the aggression could escalate into something much worse.

I wonder if you could pay someone to make the portable hoop "disappear?" Maybe instead of replacing it, they'd go down the road to the court.

Im sorry to hear of your situation. If the problem was dog noise then it would be court and the problem over. You can visit a
lawyer and maybe he can send a stern letter to these neighbors that you will sue if the noise is not reduced. Most chances
a threat from lawyer may deter these awful neighbors change their behavior. If the legal route doesnt work, look into
noise proofing your place with double pain windows or storm windows. Its helped me with my crummy neighbors. Good luck!

It's been three years, though. The kids have probably outgrown basketball and moved on to tearing cars apart in the driveway.

Considering this thread is over 3 years old, I imagine the OP or the family with the kids, may have moved 2 or 3 times since then.
