It is a poor airport - with a fairly short runway - it does need improvements.

You always need to maintain/upgrade airports - if the community is really against rising tourism the solution is to ban additional hotels and lock down AirBnB/vacation rentals - and keep raising hotel room taxes - car rental taxes - etc.

Time to consider closing the airport altogether … back to access by outrigger canoes.

Improving the airport isn't the problem so much as adding more rental cars than pre pandemic levels. Our roads cannot handle any more traffic.

Between the current fleet of rentals and the one's being rented out by private owners our roads are always at maximum capacity.

Seeing emergency vehicles trying to maneuver through our traffic when they get a call is very difficult in many spots. We all know how important the tourism industry is to our islands, but they need to be more considerate of the people who live here.
