Along the same lines, a friend of mine was telling me that when she first moved to O'ahu, she and her boyfriend used to practice pronouncing the street names as they drove around. Driving DH direction down Ala Moana Blvd, right after Coral, you have Co'oke Street. Apparently they called it Co'oke for months until someone politely pointed out that it was Cooke, as in Captain Cooke
