Don't know the rules, yet, but will get there.

Mahalo for the help.
A small number of reputation points are given to you when you start. You are given reputation points by others on the forum. You can see you reputation points and comments by checking 'user settings'. You can give someone reputation points by I clicking on the quick reputation icon on the bottom of a post on the left side of the screen. You can also give a reputation point by clicking on the law balance scale on the upper right side of the screen on top of the post. The legal scale icon also allows you to add a comment. Some people add comments including their user name. Others just use the quick reputation, and you don't know who gave you the reputation points.

If someone has a low reputation point number, then you might consider that a way to validate their comments. Of course newcomers will normally have lower reputation point numbers than members that have been around for many years. I hope that answers your question.

Sixty years isn't in the back mirror yet for me yet, but it's getting close now. Some people hate getting older, but there isn't anything you can do about it! It's better than the alternative. Then there is the up side, retirement! Every day is a holiday and you can live where you want to live, if you can afford it!

Aloha Howzit?

How about the town of Kalihiwai,

Kaniakapupu Ruins - YouTube

Heres some information on historical places.
Kalihiwai, Hawaii Historical Places

Im sorry there barely was any historical information on Kalihiwai. Any locals from that area if you have anything to add it would be helpful. My hope is that people who want to move to Hawai'i will hopefully learn something other then cost of things and weather. Maybe just maybe we can plant a seed that will grow to Aloha aina and Kama'aina, Aloha Mahalo

Need a correction here: the Kaniakapupu ruins (King's summer residence) is on Oahu. Except for Queen Emma's cottage in Lawai (which I believe was a private residence as opposed to an official royal residence), there were no official royal residences on Kaua'i.

There is a Kalihiwai on Kaua'i (your second link), but it is a stream, valley, and beach between Kilauea and Princeville, not even a town (anymore). Not much there except a few old houses, a few new luxury houses, and a pretty valley with waterfalls. It was the site of some deaths in the 1957 tsunami, as well as having the bridge wash out completely. The main road was later rerouted across a long bridge higher up the valley. Photos here:

Yes, this is the mana or aloha spirit that people talk about. Its not a forced smile or just trying to be nice. Its a joy that fills you up. Feels much like the feeling of falling in love for the first time. You don't ever have to lose it if you don't want to. You can be in the mainland and have alot of aloha and joy too.
