To clarify and avoid any misunderstanding:
THERE WILL BE NO PROSELYTIZING IN THIS SUB-FORUM
This sub-forum is not the place for proselytizing or attempting to convert Jews. It is meant for Jews interested in discussions among themselves and for others who want to learn more about this worldview and are interested in posing non-confrontational questions to Jews. Use our main Religion and Philosophy forum if you want to debate the merits of this worldview (but do a search first to see if your topics have already been discussed).
If you do not understand any part of what "NO PROSELYTIZING" means, please DM the Moderator of the forum for clarification.
English is the official language of City-Data. While the use of single words or short word phrases is sometimes necessary to accurately communicate in this forum, posts need to be done in English and some leeway must be given to posters when working with words from non-English languages.
When using non-English keep it short and if the meaning is not obvious from the content please include a translation.
It is understood by the Mods that for religious purposes sometimes non-English is needed to adequately express the Judaic view

Reason: Merged posts.
This forum encompasses ALL branches of Judaism. All Jews (and also non-Jews with an interest in Judaism) are welcome here. Please be aware of this. We welcome everyone who posts in accordance with the rules.
Further to the above, we are adding the following for clarification at the suggestion of several regular Judaism posters:
The posts on the Judaism forum are written by a very varied group of Jews with different views and customs.
This site makes no guarantee of validity and does not offer professional (particularly rabbinic) advice. Treat information from this site like it came from a crowd of your friends.
As with all the Religion forums, discussion of politics is off-limits. There is a separate Politics forum on this site for such discussions.
That said, it is understood that there is often an overlap between politics and certain issues of concern to those of us who post in the Judaism forum.
With this in mind, a more precise definition seems to be required for what constitutes politics-related, off-limits posts in this forum. These are:
1. Posts about the current Administration and the immediate past Administration of the US Federal government.
2. Any posts at all dealing with Republicans vs. Democrats, Conservatives vs. Liberals, or Right-wing vs. Left-wing.
3. Any posts at all about abortion (unless the discussion relates to Halacha) or gun control.
If you have any questions regarding the above (which has been reviewed by the forum moderators) please send a direct message to one of the moderators.
Thank you.
