Recently received our insurance premium statement on our home and auto bundled policy from Nationwide. We have two vehicles, a Ford F-150 and Buick Enclave, both the same model year 2011. For some unexplained reason the liability portion on the Enclave nearly tripled while the Ford stayed the same. The local agent said it definitely had to be on the vehicle, but why he didn't have a clue. He would try to find out but wasn't guaranteeing anything as lately trying to find answers to these things with the company is like going down a rabbit hole. Anyone else having a similar experience?

That particular vehicle model may have been involved in an unusually high number of accidents.

What does that translate to in dollars? It's a huge increase simply because it tripled, but if that means $5 more a month it might not be worth chasing down.

It could be availability/cost of crash parts if it was collision. Those Buick Enclaves sold about 4,000/month. The F150 averaged 35,000/month. It's far more profitable for aftermarket (and manufacturers) to make parts for a more common vehicle. For liability it's most likely the recorded instances of crashes being high for the Buick.
