Thanks-- I meant any lag from modem, to switch 1 to switch 2 to end user. I'm probably splitting hairs but I thought daisy chaining would eventually introduce lag. My modem has only 4 ports so I'll need at least one switch. To ease cable runs, I might want to introduce switch 2 in a different location. For the garden variety residence, it will likely never matter, but if there's a path for improved performance (like chaining the modem to switch 1, or switch 1 to switch 2 together with fiberoptic) , I'll at least consider it.

I think you are way overcomplicating things for at best negligible gains.

Agree. You will see zero improvements using fiber over 6A. And Switches are absolutely not introducing lag, even if connected in series (daisy chained).
