I use Picasa (Google) and Flickr (Yahoo). I have gmail and yahoomail accounts, so it is convenient that I can just use those logins for the photo accounts too.

I just use them to store photos as a cloud backup.

Flickr gives you 1tb of free space, which is a lot of space! I think Picasa gives you about 5gb of free space.

I have a Photobucket account, and I also have an account with Tiny Pic. I quite like Tiny Pic.

I used to like Flickr, but it's changed and I don't like the changes. I also use Picassa.

People still use flickr? Amazing. Really lousy photo hosting site, at least for us photographers. Used to be great, but as mentioned, now it is terrible.

Photo bucket is a good, no frills hosting service. Keep in mind that any image someone uploads to a hosting site is fair game for theft. I only shoot B&W film, so seldom upload anything anyway, but I used to and, it was very annoying seeing my scanned images all over the internet (and even stolen and used for company advertising). You can complain and they MAY take them down, maybe not. What usually happens when you issue a take down notice is that they comply, then put it right back up. Never a word about how they stole your image. Scanning was a waste of my time anyway, so it's much better that I print in my darkroom and only show in galleries. That way I have control over things. The stuff I continually see on the web will just have to stay there. I have better things to do than try and get it off.

Posting ANY image to photo forums like apug, photo.net, rangefinder forum, etc, guarantees that your images will be stolen. That used to not bother me, but over the years so many have been pilfered that enough is enough.

I dislike PhotoBucket now! I use CloudUp.com The same company that owns WordPress (the blogging system) owns CloudUp

If you have a blog, you can just add a + sign and it embeds. Convenient!

Not to mention how bad the ads are lately. The latest is a little box that pops up "You computer is not secure". Really Photobucket? You are letting THOSE people advertise on your site?

Not a maven, but I use Flickr and Photobucket... both have their Picks & Nits, imo with PB being the most ad riddled and glitchy, at least on my 3 computers.

As for someone 'stealing' my photos, they can have them: I put up very reduced size jpegs, ~ 1000 x 800, and less than 1 Mb vs the 8 - 12 Mb 'original' post processed files, so enlargements are of little concern as is reusing at that small size on the web. If one wants to cop my stuff and put it up on FB, CD, et al, there is little I can do about it, and who really cares?

And, if someone wants my stuff for a screen saver or to look at, good: photographs are for looking at.
