I live in Boise, Idaho. Rents are going through the roof. I have friends in other parts of the country. They are experiencing dramatic rent increases. It seems to be happening everywhere. How is Evansville faring? I have long wanted to move to Indiana because I'm originally from Northern Illinois, and I prefer the Midwest landscape to the high desert. I am interested in Southern Indiana because of the milder winters. My 2 bedroom in Boise is $1250. How much is a two bedroom in Evansville? I ask this because all the cost of living websites have old data, and a lot of changed in the past year.

You will be paying over $1k for most 2 Bedrooms in Evansville. And crime/drugs are ridiculous, roughly 86% above the U.S. average in about every category out there. And average pay and job opportunities are below average. There are many more desirable places out there than Evansville or that area in general. Tennessee has a lot more going for it along with lower taxes, no state income tax and lower utilities cost. Southern Indiana and Western Kentucky have some of the highest utility cost I’ve ever seen. And I’ve lived in many places in my life.
