What seemed dead? You mentioned a mall, ok? Are malls still popular? You mentioned traffic, which is a pretty silly measure. Atlanta's traffic infamously awful, why would traffic in Indy tell you anything compared to Atlanta?

I was in "Midtown" Carmel last weekend, it was anything but dead. Downtown Indy isn't as vibrant at its core due to work from home. However, Mass Ave and other areas are still fairly vibrant.

If the whole point of the thread is to take potshots and gloat about how you're just used to Atlanta, then mission accomplished. We're all very impressed a metro area triple the population of Indy is so vibrant with it's busy interstates and malls.

I can also vouch for Carmel seeming pretty normal. This nicer weather has really had people all over the Monon and around the Arts & Design District.

Since school went back in session in Fishers and Noblesville in early August, Hamilton Town Center is like any other mall, pretty quiet during the week and usually much more active on the weekend. I haven't been since the shutdowns hit in March so I'm not sure how much that might have picked back up.

Less than a month after your post I can say these places are somewhat busy. I get burgers to go at Five Guys. Once places somewhat reopened, people started venturing out. I've eaten at the Ford restaurant twice, Five Guys to go numerous times. Ford is packed during the weekend, Five Guys has a steady stream of business during the workweek with the mall not all that packed. I believe the movie theater up there is done for, as I heard the GQT bankruptcy had that theater closed for good. That would explain some reduction in business. I've been to Cabelas a handful of times since the initial shutdown, it is had a pretty decent crowd shopping, mostly on weekends.

I've been to Carmel and Pendleton recently. Both were fairly busy on a Fri. and Sat. evening.

I never see the same amount of vibrancy and people in Chicago as I do Atlanta, it's such a ghost town, is Atlanta doing okay?

Atlanta is nearly 3 times the size of Indy, of course there are more people and more traffic.
