Should the Illinois forum post a "Sticky" listing statewide annual events? YES or NO. And why, f you like.

My vision is to have a sticky with the name and URL of each event organized by month.

Illinois has a many wonderful annual events every year of which some are nationally recognized. I know there are others that are just as much fun, but I don't know the names or how to find them.

Not a bad idea, but I can only imagine how many events would need to be crammed into the thread.

Default I agree

I thought about that and decided a monthly division was the best way to handle the bulk and confusion. Doesn't it make better since to see what's going on before you visit an area? The one thing about this it is a one tine entry. Most of the annual events in central Illinois have been ongoing for several years. With a URL the dates are usually accurate.

The first thing we must do is see if the powers that be will give us a sticky. But there has to be some interest in the idea.

As a "power that be", the issue here is that you guys don't have the power to edit threads. So, you can keep creating new posts, but you can't have 1 post that says "January events" and then add as they come along. Does that make sense? There would need to be more interest in this as well.....

I was thinking more of a sticky with 12 sub-titles (Jan - Dec). The post has a 7 dat run, but it really doesn't look like anything is going to happen. What I really wanted to do was see if there was a signifcant number of persops supporting the idea before I ever talked to you about it. I was testing the water.

No prob! The only thing then is that the posts can't be edited by you after it's created. So, you can create a post that has the 12 sub-titles, but then you can't edit the info. That's the only thing. It's a good idea though.
