Illinois is not losing as much population as previously thought. And those who are leaving are mostly leaving for reasons other than crime and taxes.

I understand that Governor Abbott is working hard to keep Chicago's population from dipping too much. Keep filling those sanctuary cities.

Go to your library and check the Oct 10 Tribune. The gist is that migrants to the State are generally better paid and educated. The age group most likely to leave is over 55 and leaving mostly for jobs, housing, commute, education or family. Not even on the list are taxes, crime, or even weather

Illinois is rapidly becoming more like a Northeastern state (plus corn fields). Think Connecticut, or Massachusetts: High income, high tax, high education levels, stable population, heavily white collar with some high-value-added manufacturing. And lots of cold and snow.

You want Chicago to be NYC so badly... *sigh*

What kind of strange comment is that? I've never said anything about the two cities together in my life.

I made this comment based on you stating that illinois is becoming like that of a Northeastern City. As if thats some type of goal to aspire to. Illinois is its own state. It doesn't need to be anything else. And by extension you are talking about thier main cities: whichis Chicago in this case.

I said it was becoming more like a Northeastern state, not a city.

There's nothing wrong with noting that some characteristics of one state resemble those of some other states. It is neither a goal to aspire to, nor something to avoid. It's just an observation about certain characteristics, that's all.
