Looking to get out of the city this weekend for some apple picking. Any recommendations on where to go?

Google "apple pickers" depends where you are.

Also try Indians & West Michigan.

You may find coop association of fruit growers. Apples, cider,

I've gone to a bunch of places. It depends if you just want to apple pick or if you have kids and want to incorporate a bunch of other activities. If you just want to pick apples, just look at what they charge per peck or bushel and check out how far you have to drive to get there because aside from that the actual experience is interchangeable IMO. If you want to incorporate other activities, look at their websites if they have one.

A few I've been to:

Keller's - Oswego, IL
Kuipers - Maple Park, IL
Jonamac - Malta, IL
Edward - Poplar Grove

One I haven't been to:
Apple Holler - Sturtevant, WI

We go to Honey Hill Orchard near Waterman nearly every year. Great apples.

Kuipers and Jonamac both also make their own alcoholic cider (I think Jonamac has wine too) and have nice seating areas for that. Keller's didn't have that as of last year and when I last visited Edward 5 years ago I don't think they did.

If you don't care for the cider, then I would just look at price, location, and what types of apples they have available on the day you're planning to go. If their websites don't list that information, give them a call. I have noticed no difference in the actual apple picking experience among all the ones I've visited.
