Hello,

I have a question regarding television and network coverage.

I am from NY and am planning on going to Illinois to pursue a degree.

Regardless of what college I choose, I wanted to know if they have WGN or whatever network they broadcast the Bulls and Blackhawks on.

I am looking at colleges in Peoria, Carbondale, Champlain, Chicago, and near the border of Iowa.

I want to know if I will be able to watch Chicago sporting events from those locations.

Does anyone know?

Thanks.

WGN is a superstation and is available throughout the United States and some parts of Canada. It is part of the reason that so much of the world view Chicago as a gang-infested hellhole.

If you want to watch all Chicago sporting events, your best bet is to purchase one of the comprehensive sports streaming packages or a package from the cable provider. Large swathes of downstate Illinois are considered to be part of the St. Louis sports orbit. You will find many more Cardinals fans, for example, once you get to Bloomington and Champaign, which really aren't that far outside of Chicagoland.

WGN isn't the sports powerhouse it used to be. To watch Bulls games consult the Bulls schedule. To get all games you may need a sports package that includes Chicago NBCS, ESPN, TNT, etc. For hockey is the same. If you can do radio you may find local outlet for Bulls & Blackhawk games. You can try WGN Radio.

Later becomes the same deal if you watch baseball Cubs or White Sox then football Bears.

The closer you are to Chicago becomes easier to get broadcast games. You will have to search to find what channel they are on.
