Hey folks! My partner and I are moving to the area from a college town in Michigan. Weed is a pretty casual thing where we're coming from. People smoke on their porches and no one bats an eye. I was wondering what the public opinion of cannabis is in the area? I know there are a few dispos, but I'd hate to make enemies outright by not understanding the culture. We've also smoke in isolated areas in parks.

People could not care less in Chambana or anywhere else in the state if you consume cannabis within your home. However, public consumption of cannabis is illegal in Illinois, and I think it is still culturally frowned upon by the vast majority of people. Aside from the City of Chicago, I have never witnessed public consumption of cannabis. Even so, I am sure it occurs on UofI's campus at times. Be mindful that many leases prohibit smoking.
