I am moving to work in Fermilab. What would be the most suitable place to live with a family of 4, 2 small kids?

There are some really great suburbs around Fermi. St. Charles, Geneva, and Batavia are all great towns for families. They have great schools and housing prices are reasonable, though still not cheap. You can also live in areas like Naperville, Downers Grove, Glen Ellyn, and more.

What is your budget? What type of home are you looking for? Any other qualifiers you can give us for determining a best location?

I'd rate Batavia, Geneva, St Charles as 1-2-3. Warrenville, Winfield, Wheaton gives you plenty to look around.
