I went to my polling place yesterday and the machines were in full view. No curtains and not facing the walls. I asked the guy that was taking the ballots about it and he claimed it was because of COVID. What do YOU think?

In the grand scheme of things it's not a big issue.

Yeah take it easy...people have signs in their front lawn indicating how they're voting. And we all openly talk about our political leanings. No one cares who you vote for at the polling place.

Some people don't lean a particular way. They want to keep their choices private and not be judged.

My husband went yesterday and he said they were now covered. Apparently I wasn't the only person concerned about it.

You have machines to vote with in your area? We fill in the ovals on the ballot sheet with an ordinary ballpoint pen. The tables have walls on three sides and no curtain is necessary.

We only use a machine to read the ballot, it's a tabulator, and there is a cardboard privacy shield that you put your ballot in. I had expected that to be common across the state, but I guess not.
