My daughter has moved to Campaign Il for a job, she is wanting to buy a home but has no clue where to look that is in good elementary school district and close to Campaign for her work. what are safe areas/ neighborhoods that would you recommend? What schools?

If she's working in Champaign... Mahomet. If she's working in Urbana... St. Joseph. If she's working near the university, flip a coin.

Whether in Champaign or Urbana really only matters if she's working on the outer fringes of either, and at most it's a 10 to 15 minute difference. If she's working near campus where the Champaign/Urbana border is, it won't matter that much.

I'd add Monticello and Tolono to the list of towns with good schools that are within easy commuting distance of Chambana.

I would not want to live in either of these towns, there are plenty of nice neighborhoods in Champaign or Urbana.

I would not want to deal with the "roll the dice to see where your kid goes to school" Champaign school district or the "mediocre no matter where your kid goes to school" Urbana school district when there are nice, headache-free school districts just outside of town.
