New Mexico isn't a red state lol. All 3 branches of govt are blue and only voted Repub for a president once since 1992.

Seems that Illinois, New York and New Jersey are the places people are getting away from regardless of what any poll says.. highly taxed and regulated states.

and yet these polls and lists are becoming more and more useless as remote workers can work any job from anywhere, so all this BS about lumping an entire state together is totally pointless... you're telling me that New Jersey is the #1 safest state to live in? get the hell outta here lol... Minnesota the #2 best overall state? Taxachutsets #1? yeah... no

demographics say that people are moving south and west... must be for some reason eh? Probably nothing to do with this dumb "ranking"

and every person's preferences are different. Some people are healthy, some people have no children, some people's version of safe is different than anothers, some people want arts and theater, while others want uninhabited wilderness. Its just stupid to categorize an entire state and try to rank 50 of them lol, but that never stops wallethub or forbes from trying

"stereotyping", and "generalizing" is all part of the new political reality in the USA, largely, in part, to the fact that people have super short attention spans now a days, and since you can get the news of the world in a 60 second or less Video, very few people bother to actually look deeply at ANY topic being brought to their attention..

Trump is racist, Obama is a Muslim, Brent Cavanaugh is a rapist,Elizbeth Warren in Pocahontas, Starbucks hates cops, Nike hates America, Alabama is all racists, California is all *******s, Arizona is all Right Wing Racists, it goes on and on, and, no one seems to bother doing the actual research on these and most any other topic....why bother, when we can let the news media make up our minds for us in 60 seconds or less..

Its a very disturbing trend in this country, and, unless we once again start teaching Critical Thinking in schools to the new generation, the ability to think logically, and deeply on your own will become another lost skill in the USA...

Forget about it...
You know there's more to states than just COL and taxes.... right? Or are you just another one of the many Chicago ex-pats who feels the need to come back and bash the city and state... because where you live now is so much better?

That said I also think these lists are off more than correct most of the time.
