I know it's not a huge city, but I've seen Street Views in much less populated areas. Wonder if it has to do w/ the University

Dunno why. I saw the Google Street View car driving around here in full "survey mode" a couple times this past spring and summer.

Interesting. Maybe Google is slow in updating (I know some of their existing views are years old, for example, go to Roosevelt Av & 126 St in Flushing, NY, you will see Shea Stadium standing and Citi Field under construction in some views!)

Galesburg only has main streets still and its approaching a year since they drove Knox county. It's a very slow process of assembling the images and censoring sensitive data. Large parts of it are done by algorithm but a lot of it needs human intervention to ensure the process is going smoothly. Still, I expected a 6 month delay not a year delay. It's making researching some areas to live post-grad very frustrating.

Apparently, Google heard me complaining, just checked maps.google.com and there is C-U street view coverage!
Only major streets--Florida/Kirby, Philo Road, University (only east of Wright), Springfield (west of Wright), Lincoln, 1st St, Neil, Windsor Road, Prospect, Mattis, Staley Road (never been on that last street as that is what I call "new C/U", i.e. didn't exist when I lived there from 1971-74). No Green Street at all, looks like they avoided the heart of campus. Also, they didn't go by University HS, where I was a student during those years. Oh well, I've noticed that Street View tries to avoid schools in general, no matter what city. At least I go to see the C-UMTD bus garage on East University (are they ever going to get rid of those old Flxibles?!)

No, that's really not true. Maybe some school districts can ask google not to display their buildings, but if you look at other cities, (like Danville) you will see that schools will show on Streetview.
