Preppy, valley girl; originated in California.

Urban Dictionary speak that alleges family and super close knit groups of friends will always have your back.

Unconditional love.

Family Always Means Backing Any Member aka Fam Bam

Hmmmmm lol considering that def from Urban Dictionary, I will stop referring to his adopted sibs as "fambam"... they don't fit that description lol. Just "bizarre people he happened to grow up with."

I moved to Buffalo, NY after college (U of I, C-U), following a love but also as an experiment in setting up a life from scratch in a new place. The relationship fell apart, and I found that a life constructed around a job maintaining a place to live put me in a state of existential boredom. I decided that a life without nearby family was empty of an important value for me, and applied to grad schools in my home state of Illinois. I got in, and have been here ever since.

I am strongly considered moving back. I was born and raised in in the Chicago area, and moved to the SW where I've been for the last three years. Although the cheap COL and weather is nice, most of my family and friends still reside in IL. I honestly think the weather here gets boring sometimes, its sunny and warm all the time, I do miss variety and some of you may think I'm crazy.

I check the news on IL often and see how crazy the states politics and budget issues have become, but yet want to return. Very few cities can beat Chicago in terms of world class and things to do, IMO. Am I crazy for wanting to return?

Nope, you're not crazy. We returned for many of the same reasons. It's 75 and Sunny here in Chicago today. I'll take that any day over the weather in AZ (or similar). And I agree, love the 4 distinct seasons, including a snowy Winter.
