I live in Texas and I'm looking for information on Castleford. I know it is a small town which is what we are looking for. Employment is not a problem.

Hello cldj40,

I've not been to Castleford. It is just at the south end of the city of Buhl in Twin Falls County. For City Data's facts on Castleford, go to:

https://www.city-data.com/city/Castleford-Idaho.html

wikipedia.org also has information on the town, although some of the numbers don't jibe with City Data's numbers.

Hope that helps.

Thanks just looking for small towns around Twin, IF, Poky and Boise but mainly Twin. Thought maybe if someone was on here from Castleford that would be great.

How is employment not a problem?

Castleford is extremely small, insular, and uneventful. There's a school, a bar, a post office, a grocery store, and that's it. It's primarily a farming town. No events to speak of, outside of a car show/mud bogging competition once a year that draws from the rest of the county. They had a real problem with their drinking water a few years back, and there are documented cases of radiation in the aquifer.

It's close to Buhl (for most daily needs), Balanced Rock and Roseworth Reservoir, but not much else.

This isn't true at all.

It's more like 7 miles or so from Buhl, or about a 10 minute drive through farmland and dairies. The population is approximately 100 or so, most of which live outside of the town.

Castleford is pretty much nothing more than a widening in the road. It's not really a *town* as most of us might think of one. If you're looking for a small town in that area Buhl is probably a better bet.
