Reviving the thread with a question: Many of the Sandpoint area restaurants with patios where we used to be able to take our dogs have closed, or have become dog-unfriendly. Connie's used to welcome dogs, but not since the pandemic (and they claimed they NEVER allowed dogs. Oh well). MickDuff's allowed dogs in the old location, but I don't know about their new place. At Lou's in Hope we used to sit with our dog on the lawn patio out back, but that was turned into a more formal patio when Chops took over--and then the whole establishment closed. Last summer it looked as if a new restaurant had opened, but we never got a chance to try it out, with or without dogs. Since we'll be "back home" in NID pretty soon , we'll need to make a new list of restaurants and cafes that will allow dogs.

Our pups are okay, staying by themselves at our cabin, so going into Sandpoint by ourselves specifically to have lunch or dinner is not a problem, but it is super inconvenient when we're in town with them that we can find a place to eat where they're welcome, because we don't want to leave them in the car on hot days, even in the shade. Any suggestions?

Restaurants are having a hard time of it right now. They have been hit with a labor shortage, rising prices, and rising overhead costs all at once.
