I think a fairly easy answer to putting all of Idaho into the same time zone would be to move the Pacific zone's boundary eastward, putting Spokane into Mountain time, along with Clarkston and Pullman. They're all close to the dividing line, and all are closer to Mountain time cities than those in Pacific time.

The boundaries are all arbitrary anyway. There's no valid reason they must follow our state boundaries on the western edge any more. Those reasons were valid 100 years ago, but not now.

I'd agree. N ID is tied closely with East WA. Geographically, it's closer to even Seattle than to Boise.

There's no doubt that this is true.

My personal belief is Boise is not very closely tied to any other metro. Boise is an equal to them all, even though it's the smallest. They all regulate their respective states, so they are all interconnected.

Changing the time zone benefits the future more than the present.
How much population difference is there right now between Spokane and C d'A metro areas? (that's a question for the present)

So which metro is growing the fastest? Spokane or Cd'A? Which one has grown faster for longer length of time? (these are questions for the future)

It seems to me that if the change is made to benefit the greatest number of people, all those questions may be pertinent to the discussion.
