What is the great huge crane on hwy 95 doing? Across the street on the same block as Ziggy's?

It's enormous and appears to be slowly building something round and very tall around itself.

That’s some serious population growth needed for a large water tower that sized in that area.

2 million gallons
They have been talking about it for a long time and it was finally approved in 2019 by FAA due to it being 160' tall and near airport.

Wow!
Hayden must be planning for some enormous growth!

Idaho Falls. is currently in the middle of getting approval for a new water tower here, needed to replace our present 80-year old tower, which has a capacity of 80,000 gallons at 60 feet of pressure elevation.

The new proposed tower is a million gallons at a little higher elevation, but not much.

I.F. looks to be at 61,000 population, but the new census will be higher, and the new tower is expected to suffice for growth for an estimated 50 years.

Honestly, I'm no hydrologist. I know next to nothing about civic water supply. Maybe Hayden's plans could be too modest?

There's a lot of discussion happening, but not over the need. Idaho Falls loves it's red, white, and blue water tower. We love the paint job more than the tower itself.
I like it, but to me, a water tank is only a tank. If we have an old water tank that could collapse, then we need a new tank. If it needs a paint job to make everyone happy, paint the new tank.
