The thread is about buying guns and ammunition. It is not really about getting a driving license. So the question is: is residency required before purchasing guns? If it is, establishing residency might possibly take 6 months.

The day I move to Idaho full-time is the day I consider myself an Idaho resident I'm not waiting 6 months

Is still possible for me to buy a mags and ammo as long as I keep it there and not bring it back to California

I know it did not sound on the up-and-up I guess if I have to ask the question that's my conscience

It looks like I am able to get my CCW enhanced Idaho license if that's possible I will do that since I do own a home there

The goodies I can purchase now are the overpriced ammo and magazines and keep them there without a problem

I just feel so frustrated somebody with no job can just move there get a Idaho driver's license and buy all the goodies they want

I feel trapped with this job I am older and it would be harder to get a job

I moved here with no job and still dont have a job other then retirement.

Yes. However, ammunition is very scarce the past year or so.

Well, none of us are the Idaho legislature LOL. So our individual views don't count as the law. Respect for, and support of, the ID laws as they are now, with emphasis on the individual over the state, strikes me as a fundamental of why you want to flee CA....so a lawless posture seems counterproductive. I am very sympathetic with your issues with CA law BTW.....but don't get yourself into trouble with your new state.

Taking ammo, etc., into CA is a matter of CA law, not ID law.

And when Obama got elected, the same ammo problem showed up.... primers for loading became a rare commodity. But it came back as said.

No. As a non-resident, you can purchase as much ammunition as you can afford . . . if you can find any. No fees. No background check. Cash and carry.

That's what they said about toilet paper and paper towels. Eventually the market gets glutted and things return to at least semi-normal. It's hard top predict long term ammo costs as the last lead smelter in the US was recently shut down and all lead used for ammo, etc. is purchased from foreign countries like China.
