Hello, I traveled around the US with my daughter, homeschooling her, and I traveled around Idaho. I decided on a small town in N Idaho, but a few towns in North Dakota and Wisconsin also truly charmed me to life. A few things I've learnt on this journey.

1. Life is very hard for some rural small town folk.

2. Small towns are friendlier and better in every way.

3. I did not know extreme racism existed in Idaho but I've heard otherwise from locals, and so while I still feel optimistic, I avoid certain areas as advised.

4. The more churches the town has the friendlier the people.

5. Liberal policies truly destroy everything good. Already the place I left is fast turning into an unlivable dump, very sad.

6. Idaho is a bastion of independent thinkers, that's my favorite part.

What areas were you advised to avoid by the locals?

My friend visited Grangeville and he said that is the only place he has ever seen a quantity of neo Nazis in any state. He plans to retire to Idaho and is thinking maybe Grangeville or Post Falls, if I have that right. So Idaho is his kind of place, but he wasn't happy with the tru neo Nazis he saw.

Don't get me wrong, Idaho is not the only place with neo Nazis. The worst one I ever saw was a Foreman on a construction project I was overseeing, and this was in Oakland CA, across the bay from San Francisco. So they can be anywhere. He badmouthed my Vietnamese friend. When I chastised this jerk for what he said, he calle me a "traitor to my race". A real piece of work, this moron.

Still, this was one single jerkoff I had to work over, not an entire congregation of them like my friend saw in Idaho.

My best friend lives in Grangeville. He says that I will love it up there. He and his wife have been there since 2009 and have not encountered any of that. They live next door to the Sheriff.

Statements like this make me wonder what you're thinking these "liberal policies" are that are "destroying everything good". I wonder, because the original meaning of liberalism appears to be a good thing:
Liberalism became a distinct movement in the Age of Enlightenment.... Liberalism sought to replace the norms of hereditary privilege, state religion, absolute monarchy, the divine right of kings and traditional conservatism with representative democracy and the rule of law.
Surely you're not an advocate of "hereditary privilege"? And a single "state religion" would seem to go against "religious freedom." You gotta admit, "representative democracy" and the "rule of law" are good things, right?

I'm not sure this is the right forum for political discussion, but I'm curious about what particular "liberal policies" you think "truly destroy everything good"?

And you are here to tell us that modern day liberals are doing exactly that and adhering very carefully to your "original meaning" definition?

No doubt he was referring more to progressive policies destroying everything good, which is 100% truth. Many people use liberalism and progressivism/leftist interchangeably, which has become inaccurate in what it truly means. Classic liberalism is a rarity in modern society, aside from those who aren’t paying attention to what’s happening around them, or more likely, are in denial. A majority of liberal ideals and goals have been replaced by progressivism, which IMO is incredibly dangerous and threatening to everything this country was built around.

But thanks for the lesson in political theory that now basically exists in name alone.

[mod note] No, this is not the proper forum to discuss political philosophy. [/mod note]
