Ever since we moved here 6 years ago I've heard people mention that there was an idea years ago that North Idaho, eastern Washington and NW Montana should split off and form their own state since they have far more in common with each other than the rest of their respective states.
Anyone else ever hear of this idea?
I've heard it mentioned in Sandpoint, Priest River and Priest Lake as well as some areas in Eastern WA.. Not as if it were a current issue but just like a fond pipe dream.
Not heard that. But have heard that our area want to split from the 9th circuit (that number right) because our views are so different than the rest. Plus it is the largest and should be split.
Nut jobs say that type of nonsense on occasion. It's just a load of BS you hear from very angry or unhappy losers. Instead of breaking up the U.S. maybe we should be expanding it by annexing Canada and Mexico . That may sound even more nutty to many !
I don't think it much matters where you are located these days, the times are stressing everyone everywhere. However, I do feel blessed that I am where I am (northern idaho) at least there is an abundance of natural resourses, and I was fortunate enough to be raised by people that taught us how to hunt and forage, grow and preserve. Self reliance is vast in gratification. The "city folk" can keep their city, I'm much happier and secure in the mountains.
