Thank you so much for that announcement... I would love for my kids to experience a little bit of their Ukrainian heritage!

Stopped by the Ukrainian Holiday Gifts and Bake Sale yesterday. Picked up three dozen pierogie. They were filled with potato. Took 'em home, threw some butter in a pan and fried up 12. Delicious. My mother in law fills hers with cheese (that she makes) so these were a little different. We also grabbed some rohalyki, pampushky and some other type of cookie that my wife said her grandmother used to make. They were also playing videos of Ukrainian dancing. It was nice to get my kids some exposure to this part of their heritage.

We don't eat Austin-made pierogis in Houston. We eat local fare because Austin couldn't make a good pierogi to save it's own life.

Wonder where you get pierogi in Houston? I would love some, but when I have craving I have to make them myself...

However $1 a piece is insane!

We make them from scratch at home too. Might have to make some this weekend. Would be nice with some wine on a cold evening

This thread makes me want some - will have to stop by and get a package tonight. The frozen ones that you buy from the store (on Blalock) are pretty good. They have good variety of flavors.

During Christmas I make them myself however - keeping the family tradition .
