I think it's funny how the media will leave out the fact that many of the murders, sex crimes, robberies and a host of the worst crimes are committed while someone is high on drugs.
I mean Methamphetamine, Crack, extasy, . Heroine, Fentanyl and even alcohol. People can't think straight on that stuff.
We need to revive the war on drugs and eradicate this garbage from society.
If not then we will have to live with the consequences which will only get worse.
The "war on drugs" did nothing but enrich rehab centers and provide steady income for those within the prison system and criminal courts. Any sincere effort to eradicate so much addiction has to address what caused the person to turn to drugs in the first place and resolve it. Outside of that it's just a hustle to bring more money into one or more of the aforementioned industries at the expense of those already badly damaged.

Whether or not someone was under the influence might mitigate somewhat in the courts, but it can't be used as a crutch either, otherwise everyone who ever committed any crime at all will be whining about how they would never have done such a thing while sober, which is total b.s. Those special refreshments may embolden us, but only for things we wanted to do anyway.
