I would love to hear from anyone who has bought, built, and lived in a kit-type house. I’m curious about the build experience, as well as costs. Does it feel like home? Did it meet your expectations?

Here is an article about modular homes coming to Houston. They are quite large 3000 sqft houses. I think the cost start about $175/sqft
So, basic modular 3000 sqft home will be $525K

$175/sqft is pretty expensive. I bought 96 sq. ft. Tuff Shed, one of their higher end models, for about $3000, that is ~31/sqft. And it looks even better than those modules in the pic

Actually there are larger Tuff Shed models that can be converted into small homes.
